RE: Science Room Additions for Blevins, Boltz, and Lesher
Junior High Schools
Dear Mr. Daggett:
The stormwater impacts of the proposed science room additions to
Blevins, Boltz, and Lesher Junior High Schools have been analyzed
by Stewart & Associates Consulting Engineers. This approved
documentation supports the following conclusions:
1. No additional runoff will be created by the science room
addition at Blevins Junior High School.
2. No detention is required at Boltz Junior High -School because
the small additional runoff generated by construction of the
science room will have no adverse downstream impact.
3. No detention is required for the science room addition at
Lesher Junior High School. The small volume of incremental runoff
from the addition will be routed through a dry well and across a
grassed area to reduce peak flows through infiltration and increase
the runoff time of flow, mitigating impacts to street drainage and
downstream stormwater conveyance.
The Stormwater Utility's concerns about the runoff from the Junior
High School science room additions have been addressed by Stewart
& Associates' submittal. Let me know if there are any additional
questions or concerns regarding storm drainage at these sites.
