RE: University Village Expansion
This is to summarize the meeting of 5/27/93 between Sherry Albertson -Clark and
Tom Peterson of the City of Fort Collins, and Ron Baker and Greg Smith of
Colorado State University. The meeting, concerned the upcoming project known as
the University Village Expansion. The purpose was to discuss and agree on the
Process which CSU will follow in order to communicate the intent, plans and
unplementation of the project to the City and community. CSU is not submitting for
formal P&Z approval, so the City and CSU have agreed on a "neighborthood
information' meeting to gain input and work in cooperation with the community.
The main topics of the 5/17/93 meeting were discussion of the "neighborhood
information" meeting and any "issues" the City has concerning the project.
The date proposed for the "neighborhood information" meeting is July 7th at
7:00 pm. This date and time will be confirmed as schedules are checked. This date
does work with CSU Housing and Facilities Development. Durrell Center was
proposed as the meeting site because of space, proximity, and because schools are
closed. This location is not available because of previous commitments, but Ingersoll
Hall cafeteria is available and has been reserved. The City will provide a suggested
list for a Public Notice mailing which CSU will send. The City will also provide an
example of a newspaper advertisement similar to what they recommend for this
project. A facilitator will be utilized to guide the agenda and oversee time
schedules. The meeting will be a non -formal meeting which will be introduced by
the Mayor and Art Darbie. The Project Architect will describe the Project with the
aid of models, rendered drawings and probably slides. Also present should be the
utility/site work consultant and traffic study consultant. The City staff will then
present their findings and comments followed by opening the meeting up to
community questions and comments.
The "issues" that the City wants CSU to address are the resolving of utility sources
and routing, making sure the storm drainage at the south east site is not adversely
affected, and providing full access from the north west site to Skyline Street.
