In recent months, University officials have been developing a plan which will help alleviate the severe housing shortage in the Fort Collins area with an addition to the University Village complex. Our student population has changed dramatically over the last several years to include more married students with families and older graduate students. We have found a pressing need in constructing more apartments to house this fastest -growing segment of the University population to supplement what is available in the private sector. A second public meeting is scheduled to present the design development stage.of the planning process completed to date by University staff, the City of Fort Collins planning staff and Aller-Lingle architects. The design presentation will include the site layouts, overall building designs and general details of the development to provide 118 apartments on the southeast site at City Park Avenue and Elizabeth Street and 80 apartments on the northwest site east of Skyline Drive and north of the Rams Village apartments. The meeting to present these plans is_ scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, June 30, 1993 in the Ingersoll Hall cafeteria. Ingersoll Hall is conveniently located on Shields Street at South Drive with ample free parking immediately adjacent to the front entrance on the west side of the building. Representatives from the University, City and architectural planning staffs will be at the meeting to present these plans and answer questions. We are interested in receiving citizen input into the planning process and welcome your participation. We would like to invite you to mark your calendars for that date and welcome your participation.
