Oakwood School will have working hours of 7:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
Daycare will be provided from 7:00 A.M. to 8:0QA.W Evening hours will
be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. It is estimated that half of the students will
take advantage of this service. The estimation for cars using
the daycare times will be 15, due to c ng and families with more than
one child. These will be random during the 45 minute period before school
and during the 2 1/2 hours after school. The 20 minutes before school and
after school during pickup will be staggered every 5 minutes by grade
groupings (pre k-k)(1-2)(3-4)(5-6). Those times will be 8:00 A.M. to 8:20
Z A.M. The 20 minutes after school will be 2:40 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. The
estimation for this 20 minute time period will be 10 cars, again due to
carpooling_and siblings. The staggered times will help to alleviate any large
group of cars coming at one time.
Oakwood School will have a maximum of 64 studeits attending.
Carpools, a van program, and walkers will account for the generation of
about 25 tn30 cars, if the school enrollment was 64 students.
Access to the school for students being dropped off and picked up will
be the east main entrance. Traffic patterns will be required for cars to come
south on McKinley from Mountain Ave., travel south and exit east or west on
the next block.(Cq K Sr
. There will be 4 full time employees and 1 part time employee. Their
times will also be staggered.
Once the populgti s established, Oakwood will target areas of town
from which it draws students, a van program can then be implemented with
the most efficiency. This will then cut down of the number of cars traveling
to and from Oakwood School.
