HomeMy WebLinkAboutROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL EXPANSION SITE PLAN ADVISORY REVIEW - 48 93 - CORRESPONDENCE - RESPONSE TO STAFF REVIEW COMMENTS4 Robb, Brenner an( ig, Inc On the basis of our meeting this morning, Matt Delich will be working with Rick Ensdorf to evaluate impacts at the Shields - Drake intersection. We will also look at other means of minimizing the impact of traffic on the surrounding area. Obviously this will not be done before the meeting of September 27th, although we may have some additional information. As at Fort Collins High School, this appears to be an item which will require some ongoing discussions between the School District and the City. Our minutes for that meeting this morning will encourage such dialogue. Bob Hendrickson (landscape and irrigation consultant) and I met with Tim Buchanan, and Ralph Zentz of the City; and Jerry Garretson of Poudre R-1 School District at the site on Friday, September 3rd. On the basis of that meeting, Ralph will mark trees which do not have enough value to save. Discussion are currently underway with the School District as to whether those trees will be removed this year yet and the remaining trees that can remain a viable part of our landscape scheme can be pruned. Our parking lot layout may be modified to reflect the results of this meeting. That modification probably will not be completed before September 27th. We have placed the recommended notes (slightly modified) on the Landscape Plan. The height of the auditorium is shown on the plan. We will have a colored elevation and colored Site Plan present for the Neighborhood Meeting tomorrow night. I look forward to our Neighborhood Meeting tomorrow night and responding to the communities concerns. Sincerely, William O. Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522 RE: Rocky Mountain High School Dear Ted, Please refer to my letter to you dated August 30, 1993 for basic comments. In addition, the Site and Landscape Plans have been revised in response to the comments on your letter of August 27th. Phil Robinson of Stewart and Associates has met with Glen Schleuter and is making revisions on his report. Phil tells me that no revisions are necessary on the Drainage Plan and so we are not resubmitting it. Note that the natural gas line that exists on the west side of the building is shown. It will be re-routed as necessary for the new construction. Parking lot lighting is shown on the plans. The Transfort Bus Stop which currently exists, is labeled on both the Site and Landscape Plans. Bicycle racks are now shown on the plans. On the basis of our meeting this morning, attended by you, we will survey students at Rocky Mountain High School to determine the best location(s) for bike racks to encourage the greatest use of this kind of transportation to the site. The number of parking spaces in each location is indicated on the plans.
