Ref: Zoning Kirschner Annexation #53-93,A.
Dear Ms. Albertson -Clark:
We most strongly oppose the annexation of this property.
Recent reports show that there is a gross excess of
industrially zoned property in the city limits of Fort Collins.
There are many large parcels of land available for annexation
within the boundaries of the city. Ron Kresl, of Miscio & Stroud
Realty Co., recently made plans for nearly 600 contiguous acres of
land within the city boundaries, much of which could be annexed to
the city if there were indeed any need for additional industrially
zoned land.
Leapfrogging to annex additional land can only be for the
benefit of an individual land owner, not for the benefit of the
city.
Currently industrial land in the city limits is being sold for
sacrifice prices because of the over supply. It is estimated that
there is presently sufficient inventory to last for several years
at the present rate of assimilation. Adding to this distressed
supply can only exacerbate the problem.
For these reasons we respectfully oppose the proposed
annexation. We believe it is far better long range planning and
much more desirable to utilize land within the boundaries rather
than leapfrog over large available parcels for the benefit of one
individual land owner.
Sincerely,
U
