Glare is defined as the continuous source of excessive brightness, glint is defined as a
momentary flash of bright light. Solar panels rarely provide a glint, and only at certain angles
and times of year. The solar panels used are dark -colored and covered with anti -reflective
coatings. Modern PV panels reflect as little as two perfect of incoming sunlight, nearly the same
as water and less than soil (SEIA/Sandia 2013). Many solar arrays have been built near airport
which have been approved by glare standards from the FAA. In addition, fencing and
landscaping will break the view from the south and west areas where neighbors live to prevent
glint.
