It is unlikely that the intersections would ever need to be signalized without those developments. As for the Traffic Calming, I still find it interesting that the Code requires developers to make the connections, then we make the developer mitigate the impacts of the connections, but I digress. It should be noted that we have been successful on several occasions as to the controlling of speed with traffic calming, but not reducing volumes. We will need to work with a "group" from the neighborhood to examine alternatives. Eric >>> Ted Shepard 07/06/98 11:55AM >>> Here is an update/status report based on further discussions since the last meeting with the consulting team on June 23rd. The access off Timberline Road is now proposed to be public and a logical extension of Timberwood Drive. This now means that all four legs of the Timberline/Timberwood intersection will be public. Eric, this could mean that construction of the traffic signal is now a public expense versus private as originally conceived. Both Wilmington and Delaney will remain public streets. Delaney will be public up to the intersection with Timberwood (extended). Wilmington will remain public as it goes north and intersects with either Timberwood or Delaney. North of Timberwood, the streets become private. There has been some discussion of installing some form of traffic calming on Wilmington to alleviate the potential of theatre -goers to take Wilmington to Battlecreek/Kee nland, especially when the Timberline/Timberwood intersection gets backed up after a really big show. The next neighborhood information meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 15th at Preston Junior High from 7:00 to 9:00. 1 would like to touch base with you prior to this meeting so I can accurately reflect Staff's thinking on these issues. Thanks, Ted.
