The proposed Eckerd Drug Store at Harmony Village is designed in conjunction
with the entire development. A welcoming public plaza located on the south part of
the building will be well shaded with landscape and buffered from parking. The
landscape will provide a visual screen of the loading areas and trash receptacles from
adjacent property owners and pedestrians. Pedestrian traffic will travel along
designated pathways surrounded by landscape while minimizing potential conflicts
with vehicular traffic. Vehicular traffic will circulate within the site and to,
adjacent site without interfering with the primary flow of traffic. Vehicles can park
in front of the store with its flush curb access, shaded areas and brick facade. The
facade will compliment the architecture of the Harmony Village.
The store will have a manager, two to three assistant managers, one or two
pharmacists and several store clerks, the number depending upon store hours and the
business volume of the store. The store will contain a, large variety of goods, from .
prescription and over the counter drugs to seasonal.items including suntan. lotion and
Christmas items. Hours of operation wilt varydue to municipal. rules and market
demand:
The intended use is compatible with, the Harmony. Corridor zoning designation and
with .the Harmony Village P.U.D. The site does not contain any natural areas or
hazardous materials. Construction on the'site'is planned for mid=to-late fall with the
opening of the store occurring in the spring.
