Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522-0580 Re: Wind Trail Townhomes Project Dear Mr. Shepard: am writing to you regarding the proposed project known as Wind Trail Townhomes. I would like to voice my concern over this project. I believe that the increased traffic generated by this proposal that will pour onto Shields, especially during the rush hours, is too great a burden to bear for those of us who live in the neighborhood. Traffic is already a problem on Shields. This problem can only be enhanced by Wind Trail project, particularly in light of the proposed Spring Creek Village project just north of the Wind Trail project. Presently, there are four (4) traffic lights on Shields between Drake and Prospect Roads. If Wind Trail project were to proceed, a fifth traffic light will be required at Hill Pond Road to accommodate the increased traffic. It is already a hassle entering onto south Shields from Shire Court. The proposed increase of residents east of Shields will only exacerbate this problem. I respectfully request that you reconsider granting the go-ahead on this project. In the alternative, I beg you to re -think the traffic plan for Shields between Drake and Prospect. Don't let Shields Street become a second College . Avenue! Regards, Patrick J. Murp°hy Members of Planning & Zoning Board City of Ft.Collins 0 12M November 11, 1993 Dear Member: This letter is to bring your attention to the upcoming hearing on Nov. 15, 1993. This hearing concerns the proposed projects commonly known as Windtr•ail on Spring Creek PUD - Overall Development Plan, #66-93A and Windtrail Townhomes PUD — Preliminary, #66-93. Our neighborhood, which is adjacent to this planned development, has been assured by several city staff members that the city is negotiating the purchase of 15 to 16 acres of this area for open space aquisition. In light of the above P&Z hearing, our neighborhood finds itself confused and concerned. There seem to be multiple proposals going on, and not any corresponding neighborhood informational meetings. We request that the members of the P&Z board establish the present status of the proposed natural area aquisition on Spring Creek in the course of this upcoming hearing.
