I'm troubled by today's article in the ugioraaoan regaraing the
proposed Waterglen Housing Project,. While the need for low-cost
housing in this area is undeniable, the gall of the developer to
ask for multiple concessions, which will then provide them tidy
and unearned profits, is astonishing.
The City of Fort Collins, has been very progressive in long-term
planning concerns, and adopted.landscaping, street sizing and
other regulations for the benefit of all residents. It is
completely improper to allow one private developer special
incentives for the construction of any project, low-cost or
otherwise.' To do so would undermine the City's ability to
enforce regulations in the future and would unfairly penalize
those developers who do abide by the City's requirements.
As a resident and Mayor of Timnath, I'm also concerned about
housing density near our town, particularly as it effects our
school population and our volunteer fire department. I believe
both resources of Timnath.would be impacted by this project.
Mayor Azari tas indicated very directly that she wishes to be
certain decisions made by the City of Fort Collins do not
unexpectedly produce adverse consequences to other communities.
I would appreciate your consideration of this project and its,
affects on the lives of all area residents.
Sincerely,
4-
Ric Eversole
