Mr. Ron Philips
Interim Planning Director
City of Fort Collins
P. O. Box 580

Dear Mr. Philips:
I received a copy of the correspondence written to your office by Ric Eversole, Mayor of
Timnath, who is concerned about the Waterglen Housing Project's impact on Timnath
Elementary School.
For your information, W. W. Reynolds Companies contacted Poudre R-1 at the beginning of the
project to discuss how development projects of this type were handled by the school district.
Since it is unusual for developers to contact us regarding development, we appreciated W. W.
Reynolds discussing this project with us.
I explained to W. W. Reynolds that we have a boundary committee that continuously reviews
immediate and long-term housing developments within Poudre R-1 along with the demographics
of our student population and makes recommendations to, the Board of Education regarding
corresponding boundary changes. Once approved, the boundary committee will review
placement of these students in the short- and long-range plan.
Anticipating growth in the northeast corner, Poudre R-1 has completed an addition at Eyestone
Elementary School, and is presently completing an addition to Tavelli Elementary School,
increasing the capacity at that school to accommodate an additional class at each grade level
(fourth track).
Should you need additional information, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Keith M. Dixon, Director
Construction/Development
