We would like to invite you to a meeting to share information about the annexation of land
generally located southeast of Kechter Road and Ziegler Road and north of Kechter Road and
Strauss Cabin Road on September 26, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Light of the Rockies Church,
located at 5236 Strauss Cabin Road. The meeting is intended to discuss the annexation process,
timeline, and what changes result as part of an annexation, and other questions you may have.
The selected parcels have been surrounded by the City's boundary for over three years. As
such, these parcels have become enclaves. The City of Fort Collins' intent is to annex
parcels near Kechter and Ziegler Roads as part of a series of enclave annexations. Due to the
Intergovernmental Agreement between Fort Collins and Larimer County, the City is obligated
to pursue annexation for eligible parcels, such as those surrounded by the City.
The City actively annexes eligible county enclaves to help ensure orderly growth and to maintain
the vision that was set forth in the City's Comprehensive Plan. In order to implement this vision,
staff would recommend to City Council that the subject parcels be placed into the Low Density
Mixed -Use Neighborhood (L-M-N) zone district.
A map of parcels included in the enclave annexation is included on the back of this letter. Please
feel free to contact me if you have questions prior to the meeting.
Sincerely,
Ted Shepard
