The following summarizes our review comments: ► In the area between Ambrosia Place and Carmela Court, the distance provided between the centerline of the row of bollards and the centerline of the trees appears to be only 10 feet with the row of bollards less than 5 feet from the water main. This precludes access to the area for maintenance/repair work without removing trees or bollards or both. Repair costs in these areas will be substantially greater due to the reconstruction of islands, replacement of the bollards, potential replacement of trees, etc. In addition, the time required to repair main breaks will be longer due to the time spent working around these obstacles. Can the trees be set back farther and the bollards set farther from the water main to help minimize these impacts? ► Please provide a detail of the bollards. Could the design allow for easy removal or must they be permanently set in the street? ► In the area between Painted Desert Court and Corydalis Court, the distance between the rows of trees on the west side of Seneca appears to be only 15 feet. Again, this essentially precludes access to the area for maintenance/repair work without removing trees. The same impacts of increased costs and extended repair times noted above would apply to this location. Can more space be provided? ► From the standpoint of sanitary sewer, an additional manhole is needed between Painted Desert Court and Corydalis Court to maximize the distance from sewer to the flowline at the islands on the east side of Seneca.
