CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 2002-100 - 31-94A - DECISION - CITY COUNCILSteve Olt November 5, 2002 SUBJECT: Resolution 2002-XX of the City of Fort Collins Renaming Six (6) Streets in the Cottonmod Ridge Subdivision, as follows: from "Kininak Circle" to "Pyrenees Drive" from "Aqua Fria Drive" to "Bordeaux Drive" from "Fairchild Drive" to "Corsica Drive" from "Crystal Brook Court" to "Rue Court" from "Gilpin Drive" to "Caravelle Drive" from "Sarvis Lane" to "Picard Lane" RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends adoption of the Resolution. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Progressive Living Structures Inc., the developer of the Cottonwood Ridge Subdivision, would like to change the names of six (6) streets in the Cottonwood Ridge Subdivision. The changes would be as follows: Kininak Circle changed to Pyrenees Drive Aqua Fria Drive changed to Bordeaux Drive Fairchild Drive changed to Corsica Drive Crystal Brook Court changed to Rue Court Gilpin Drive changed to Caravelle Drive Sarvis Lane changed to Picard Lane The name changes are requested because the developer will be constructing his "French Country Collection" of homes in Cottonwood Ridge. The requested street names portray a French countryside theme. There are no existing homes on the affected streets. The owner/developer of this residential subdivision is aware of the proposed name changes and is in agreement. The property is located on the west side of South Shields Street approximately 1,200 feet south of West Harmony Road. It is in the LMN - Low Density Mixed -Use Neighborhood Zoning District. The street name change request was routed to all potentially affected City departments and outside service providers. No problems or concerns regarding the proposed street name changes were expressed. As there are no existing homes on the affected streets, the owner/developer of the Cottonwood Ridge Subdivision is aware of the proposed street name changes and is in agreement, and none of the reviewing agencies/departments are opposed to the proposed changes, staff has determined that it is appropriate to recommend appro\.al of this request. RESOLUTION 2002-100 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RENAMING VARIOUS STREETS IN THE COTTONWOOD RIDGE SUBDIVISION WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has received a petition to rename various streets in the Cottonwood Ridge Subdivision; and WHEREAS, City agencies, the U.S. Postal Service and utility companies have been contacted regarding the proposed name changes and have not reported any objections to the proposed changes; and WHEREAS, the applicant has duly followed City procedure as outlined under Street Name Changes of the Department of Community Planning and Environmental Services document titled "City of Fort Collins Development Manual"; and WHEREAS, the rights of the residents of the City of Fort Collins will in no way be prejudiced or injured by the renaming of the streets; and WHEREAS, any cost to be incurred in making the new signs for the streets will be charged to the applicant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that certain streets in the Cottonwood Ridge Subdivision shall be renamed as follows: Kininak Circle renamed to Pyrenees Drive Aqua Fria Drive renamed to Bordeaux Drive Fairchild Drive renamed to Corsica Drive Crystal Brook Court renamed to Rue Court Gilpin Drive renamed to Caravelle Drive Sarvis Lane renamed to Picard Lane Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 5th day of November, A.D. 2002.
