Village Inn plans to build a sec-
ond restaurant in Fort Collins,
proposing to join a rush of new
restaurants along East Harmony
Road.
The Colorado -based chain has
its sights set on the Harmony
Market Center,1402 E. Harmony
Road, a new shopping center an-
chored by Safeway.
The other established tenant
in the center is Centennial Bank
of the West.
Village Inn, Longs Drug and
Blockbuster Video are all
prospective tenants in the devel-
opment, said Bob Pennock of
Re/Max Advanced Inc., the mar-
keting agent for the center..
All require final approval from
the city of Fort Collins.
The 48,000-square-foot Sa&-
way opened in late 1997. The en-
tire center, including outlying
pad sites, is expected to cover

ter and all the pads," Pennock
said. "We anticipate construction
to start very, very soon_"
With Village Inn, the list of
new restaurants on East Harmo-
ny Road is piling up. Buku Bowl,
Z-Teca Mexican Grill and Egg &
I have all opened along Harmony
in recent months.
The road's restaurant growth
has been steady since the early
1990s, with 10 new eateries es-
tablished in the Harmony Corri-
dor before 1999, according to list-
ings in the U S West Dex Directo-
ry-
-- Village Inn's first Fort Collins
restaurant, 1100 S. College Ave.,
opened in the late 1960s.
The chain is owned by Vicorp
Restaurants of Denver, which op-
erates or franchises 360 eateries,
primarily in the West and Mid-
west.
