Dear Resident
On Wednesday, January 28, 2004, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the Flexroom at Kruse Elementary
School, 4400 McMurray Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado, the City of Fort Collins Current Planning
Department will conduct a neighborhood information meeting to discuss a development proposal in
your neighborhood. The project is known as Sprint Wireless Telecommunications Equipment
for Cellular Telephone at Lot Eight, Harmony Safeway Center, 1414 East Harmony Road.
The Sprint Wireless Telecommunications Company is looking for a new site along Harmony Road
for cellular telephone equipment. They have narrowed their search down to 1414 East Harmony
Road, the site of the future 9,900 square foot building.
At this time, Sprint is proposing two choices for this one site. One choice would be to construct a
40-foot high flagpole which would double as a mounting device for cannister-type antennaes.
Another choice would be to construct a 40-foot high clock tower as an architectural feature of the
building. The clock tower would act as a mounting device for flush wall -type antennaes.
Lot Eight of Harmony Safeway Center, 1414 East Harmony Road, is the last vacant parcel in the
center. It is located directly west of the Safeway supermarket. Lot Eight was recently approved for
a 9,900 square foot multi -tenant retail/service building. The lot is presently vacant but a building
permit has been submitted to the City of Fort Collins and is currently under review.
Representatives for Sprint will be on hand to discuss the proposal.
The list of affected property owners for this public information meeting is derived from official
records of the Larimer County Assessor. Because of the lag time between home occupancy and
record keeping, or because of rental situations, a few affected property owners may have been
missed. Please feel free to notify your neighbor of this pending meeting so all neighbors may have
the opportunity to attend. If you are unable to attend this meeting, written comments are welcome.
