RE: Eligibility Status of the Lind Property for Designation as a Fort Collins Landmark
The Lind Property, located at the northeast corner of County Roads 11 and 52, consists of a
vernacular hipped box farmhouse and one farm outbuilding. At the request of Centex Homes,
the property was recently reviewed under Section 14 of the Fort Collins Code (the
Demolition/Alteration Review Process), to determine if the property would qualify for
designation as a Fort Collins Landmark. After consultation with the Chair of the Landmark
Preservation Commission and with Historic Preservation staff, the Director of Advance Planning
has determined that, under Section 14-72(a)(3) of the Code, the above buildings lack historical,
geographical and/or architectural significance sufficient to qualify as a Landmark, and that their
demolition would be inconsequential to the historic integrity of adjacent properties and the
surrounding area. Therefore, the above buildings can be demolished without further historic
preservation review.
