RE: Lind Property — Overall Development Plan (ODP)
.Dear Brian:
I have concerns about the locations of the proposed pedestrian ditch crossing locations..
We have proposed the locations to meet the 41ternative Compliance criteria of the! Land
Use Code, But, the No. 8 Outlet Ditch is approximately 30' deep with steep banks in'
several locations. The northernr proposed crossings are in locations that will require
extensive engineering and large development costs for largo: spanning bridges. We
understand that to meet the LUC that we have a requirement to a certain number of
crossings. I believe.it would be best for the city staff reviewing this project and the
planning team to visit the site and determine the best feasible locations for the
pedestrian ditch crossings.
On paper our proposed plan may look good, but on site.I am not sure it is feasible. The
ditch is a very wide and deep channel that will require the banks'to be laid back with
more gradual scopes. This will widen the channel even moa: than it is. I believe that
with a site visit we can plan for a better.more realistic project. There are locations along
the ditch that will be more desirable for the crossings, both vehicular and pedestrians.
But the spacing may not meet the LUC requirements and thus I believe, that it is
important for a site visit to determine the best locations for the ditch crossings for the
Overall Development Plan.
