At 00 adjustment, lens is totally concealed from view above horizontal with fixture aimed downward. Weight (150HPS) = 26 lb Ballast Housing: One piece die-cast aluminum with integral cooling fins. Fastens to mounting plate with keyhole slots freeing both hands for securing and wiring. One stainless steel socket -head screw on each side of housing frees the reflector housing to rotate for aiming. The hoods shall be heavy gage spun aluminum with hemmed edges for added rigidity. All internal and external hardware shall be stainless steel. Reflector models shall consist of a die cast aluminum door frame and ring assembly. The hood ring assembly shall be fully sealed with a molded silicone gasket. The door frame shall be hinged to the ring and opened with two captive fasteners for relamping. The tempered sag glass lens is held in the door frame with a molded silicone gasket. Opal acrylic lens - OAL - shall consist of a molded opal acrylic lens and an aluminum frame. Three captive fasteners shall be loosened to turn and remove the lens for relamping. Glass refractor - GR3/5. A borosilicate glass refractor lens with a type 3 or type 5 distribution shall be attached to an aluminum frame. Three captive fasteners shall be loosened to turn and remove the lens for relamping. OPTICAL ASSEMBLY The reflector module shall be composed of faceted, semi specular anodized aluminum panels rigidly attached in an aluminum tray. The reflector shall be easily removed by loosening four screws and lifting it out the tray. The reflector tray shall be rotatable on 90° centers for orienting the light distribution. The reflectors shall meet ANSI-IES standards for full cutoff reflector systems. ELECTRICAL The ballast shall be mounted on a prewired tray with a quick dis- connect plug and removed by loosening two captive screws. HID bal- lasts are high power factor, rated for -30OF starting. Sockets are medium base, pulse rated porcelain. Ballasts are multi -tap, wired at the factory for 277 volts. INSTALLATION & MOUNTING The fixture shall be attached to the arm assembly with three stain- less steel bolts. The connection shall be sealed with a silicone com- pression gasket. The post top - PM - version shall slip over a 47100mm pole or tenon, and be secured with six stainless steel set screws. FINISH Fixture finish consists of a five stage pretreatment regimen with a polymer primer sealer, oven dry off and top coated with a thermoset super TGIC polyester powder coat finish. The finish shall meet the AAMA 605.2 performance specification which includes passing a 3000 hour salt spray test for corrosion resistance. One of the objectives of the Lighting Plan should be to protect the Buckingham neighborhood from glare. All the proposed fixtures appear to be appropriate with one exception. The fixture described as E3 does not appear to be full cutoff. The specification sheet indicates that the UCM-H3 includes a "sag lens" which reveals the light source. Please check to make sure that the illumination in the area where the E3 fixtures are indicated does not produce glare. Should another fixture type be selected? Perhaps the UCM-H3 can be equipped with the "house side shield" which is listed as an available option. Response: Although this luminaire has a "sag lens" option that is shown on the catalog cutsheet, it is available with a flat lens. The flat lens is the only way to get the "full -cutoff designation that is listed in the luminaire descriptions on the drawings. We intend to 0 have a flat lens to address glare issues and will make sure that it is specified for this luminaire. 2. The W3 and W4 fixtures look fine can be tilted after installation. Please add to General Note number 4: "Any exterior lighting fixture that comes factory -equipped with adjustable brackets shall maintain a 90-degree cutoff angle." Response: We intend to have a 90 degree cutoff for this luminaire and will make sure will make sure that it is specified for this luminaire. We will investigate the possibility of the factory locking in the aiming at 90 degrees so that there is no need for a noet (which might be overlooked), or so the luminaire dose not end up out of position in the future.
