RE: New Belgium Brewery ODP
Dear Ted,
We would like to request an extension to the resubmittal deadline for the New
Belgium Brewery Overall Development Plan. Since receiving city comments on
November 13, 2000, we have met with city staff on several occasions to review
outstanding issues including storm drainage, traffic, and issues relating to road
locations.
New Belgium and the Neenan Company have been working concurrently on
designs for the proposed Wastewater Treatment facility that will be an initial
construction phase in the ODP area. They have recently returned from a trip to
Germany where they researched several types of similar facilities. There is still
some discussion of which design would be most suitable for the New Belgium site.
Some of the design types would affect the size required for the facility (open ponds
vs. underground), or its location in relation to the 500-year floodplain. Since we are
now illustrating the approximate size and location of the facility on the ODP plan,
we would like to be able to correctly reflect this information based on the design
chosen by New Belgium.
Since it is City policy that plans be resubmitted within 90 days of the date of the
review letter, our resubmittal is due by Friday, February 9, 2001. We are requesting
a 30-day extension to the resubmittal deadline to help resolve this issue.
