The project is the New Belgium Brewery Overall Development Plan and Water Treatment Facility — File #1-95C. As many of you are aware, the New Belgium Brewery has purchased the vacant land east of the existing brewery, north of Buckingham Street all the way to Lemay Avenue. (See map on reverse.) This area is 43 acres in size. This is the area of future expansion and is the subject of the Overall Development Plan. Within this area, there is a proposal to construct a facility to treat the water that has been used in the brewing process. This water must be treated before it can be discharged into the public sanitary sewer system and the City of Fort Collins Wastewater Treatment Plant. This is necessary due to the high levels of organic material. The treatment facility would consist of a structure and a water treatment pond. The pond would be covered by a plastic bubble and surrounded by a landscaped earthen berm. Chemicals used in the treatment process would be stored in a secured building. The list of affected property owners for this public information meeting is derived from official records of the Larimer County Assessor. Because of the lag time between home occupancy and record keeping, or because of rental situations, a few affected property owners may have been missed. Please feel free to notify your neighbor of this pending meeting so all neighbors may have the opportunity to attend. If you are unable to attend this meeting, written comments are welcome. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please call our office at 970-221-6750. Sincerely: Ted Shepard Chief Planner The City of Fort Collins will make reasonable accommodations for access to City services, programs, and activities and will make special communication arrangements for persons with disabilities.
