Dear Mr. Goerig:
January 13, 1997
Thank you for sending the fax regarding the proposed changes to former Payless Drug building in
Prospect Park P.U.D. The fax indicated a series of diamond -shaped windows on two of the
elevations.
As you are aware, Prospect Park P.U.D. was approved through a rigorous public review process.
This included several neighborhood information meetings and two public hearings in front of the
Planning and Zoning Board. The result of these meetings was the establishment of an
architectural character that meets the expectations of both the City and the neighborhood.
The diamond -shaped windows represent a radical departure from the established character of the
P.U.D. Based on the approved P.U.D., the addition of these windows are found to be
unacceptable. Staff recommends that diamond -shaped windows not be submitted as a revision to
the approved P.U.D.
If you have any questions regarding this issue, please feel free to call our office.
Sincerely:
Ted Shepard
