Mountain Aveneu Ft. Collins Co 80524 Re: Dalco PUD Dear Mr. Sell, 535 N. Douglas Avenue Loveland, Colorado 80537 (303) 669-3940 August 23, 1995 The Thompson School District is currently embarking on a long-range planning effort with a Facilities Master Plan to be developed during the '95-'96 school year. Until this study is completed and the Plan adopted by the Board of Education, it is impossible for us to say with any certainty what our anticipated need for future school sites will be. It is apparent, however, with the heavy density development planned for the north border of our District, much of it within the City of Ft. Collins, that our present schools will become inadequate for the students generated. With that in mind, we are intrigued by the prospect of a planned site between County Road 32 and Trilby Road. Location west of the railroad tracks seems like a good guess for such a site. As you can understand I am sure, the actual rate of development is always a question mark and therefore our timetable is also unknown. As your development progresses to the point where a decision on the use of the designated school site must be made, we would appreciate the opportunity to sit down with you and discuss it further. The School District is also in the process of negotiating an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Loveland regarding land dedication or fees in lieu thereof. It is our intent to work toward such an agreement the Town of Berthoud and the City of Ft. Collins and to establish uniform fees also within the county. Any development approved at this time within the City of Ft. Collins, we would request that such fees be included retroactively. I hope this meets your needs at this time. Please let me know anything further that you may need. Yours truly, Florence B. Brown Planning Specialist
