Dear Brad,
HM&
UPNT
ITHN Lfm
Rob Wilkinson of the natural resources department was wondering what characteristics of the pond
habitats of the retention ponds at the Fossil Creek Nursery PUD would be. We would like to include the
following narrative:
The lower retention pond will be used as a holding pond for water to reused in the irrigation of the
nursery stock on the nursery. It will Rrobably not have Pach in the wa of flora except for marginal plants.
Mosquito fish (Gambusis afims will be introduced to help control mosquIETurecamg. The upper
retention/detention pond will be used for the production and sales of ornamental plants and fish.
I hope this is what we needed. Let me know if you need any additional information.
Sincerely
Jack Fetig talked to Rob Wilkinson on January 2, 1996, about the referenced note. In that discussion,
it was agreed that "no pruning and thinning" would occur to the cluster of existing trees located in the
southwest comer of the site. This cluster of existing trees are known to serve as nesting habitat for
owls. In addition, Rob Wilkinson agreed that the note "pruned and thinned out as needed" was
acceptable for all other existing trees on site.
f/ 6b. Jack Fetig talked to Rob Wilkinson on January 2, 1996, about the proposed disposition of existing trees
south of the entrance drive and east of the retention pond. Mr. Wilkinson has agreed that these trees
may be removed.
v/6c. Note about the characteristics of the pond habitats has been added to the Site Plan. Please see response
fetter from Jack Fetig dated January 2, 1996.
6d/Jack Fetig talked to Rob Wilkinson on January 2, 1996, about the use of native species in the "natural17 "
areas. The Scotch Pines have been deleted from the right-of-way natural area. After further
/zonsideration, Rob Wilkinson agreed that the Russian Golden Willows would be an acceptable tree.
