side needs to be only a few feet from the edge of the Trilby Lateral. The sides of the cut off wall need
to extend into undisturbed earth a distance equal to the width of the trench. NO forms should be used
on these side wings. The earth should act as the only form and all loose dirt removed. The concrete
should be poured directly into the earth. The purpose of this is to form the tightest possible seal
between the pipe\trench and the surrounding earth to prevent any water flow.

Kent:
This is a follow up to our January 13, 2005 phone conversation.
The Trilby Lateral board met on January 1, 2005 and reviewed your Harmony Ridge Filing 2 plans.
It is our understanding that most of your development is staying in excess of 100 feet away from the
Trilby Lateral ditch and that the hillside between development and the Trilby Lateral will not be
disturbed. With this understanding NO concerns surfaced from the board members.
The one exception is that an underground pipe crossing of the Trilby Lateral is planned. Our
comments are all focused on this crossing.
The crossing must be constructed when the water is off in the Ditch. The Water is normally off from
about October 15 until May 1.
I've attached a redlined section of page 10 of 19 of your plans
Please see the attachment for a visual image of the following comments.
A 20 foot section of the Trilby Lateral is specified to be concrete lined.
The drawing says "Concrete Lining See Detail" , however, I could not find the "Detail"
What we want is the floor of the lining to be three inches below the existing grade. The True bottom of
the Trilby Lateral is presently covered with about three inches of silt so the lining needs to be at the true
ditch bottom. The lining should be two feet wide on the bottom, with sides that slope at a 45 degree
angle. The lining should be 2.5 feet deep. The concrete thickness should be four inches.
A concrete cut off wall needs to surround the pipe to prevent any water from following the pipe path.
The cut off wall needs to be three times the width of the trench that the pipe lays in. The bottom of the
cut off wall needs to extend one foot below the pipe. The top of the cut off wall needs to extend to the
top of the Trilby Lateral ditch. This requirement will also mean that the cutoff wall on the downhill .
