Dear Mr. Lamport: In a letter to Joe Vansant dated May 27, 1998, Stephen Howard from The Ridge Homeowner's Association expressed concern about the street lighting plan for the Harmony Ridge P.U.D. Now that the Harmony Ridge P.U.D. is ready to build, Light & Power has finished the street lighting plan. This plan is governed by the City's Light & Power "Electric Service Rules and Regulations" and the City's Engineering Departments "Street Design Manual" (Section 1.02.05). To answer The Ridge H.O.A. concerns, the City is able to reduce the quantity of streetlights from 22 to 15 through discussion between Light & Power and the Engineering Department. Most of the streetlights eliminated were on the eastern boundary of the property with the intent to alleviate some of the lighting impact between Harmony Ridge and The Ridge. Also, it was the City's attempt to keep the integrity of the rural nature of your subdivision as well as lessening the impact on the Cathy Fromme Prairie natural area. If you have any questions in regard to the street lighting plan contact Mark McCallum or myself at 221-6605, or Janet McTague at 224-6154. Thanks. Sincerely, 04Mf Cam McNair, PE City Engineer Attachment (1) Cc: Mark McCallum Janet McTague Steve Olt G 281 North College Avenue • P.O. Box 580 • Fort Collins, CO 80522-0580 • (970) 221-6605
