Two drainages within the survey area contain wetland vegetation. The wetland vegetation consists
primarily of Broadleaf cattail (Typtia latifolla), Creeping spikerush (Eleocharis macrostachya), Reed
Canary grass (Phalaris arundinacca), Olney's three -square (Sccirpus americanus), and Torrey's rush:.. .
(Juncus torreyi). The Trilby Lateral borders the project site on the south side. Ground water seepage
appears to be the main source of water supporting the wetlands. As shown on the attached map, ground
water seepage associated with the wetlands infiltrates and does not now to a down -gradient perennial
stream. In addition, there is not a discernable channel that depicts evidence of flow below the wetland areas.
The closest down -gradient perennial stream is approximately''/s mile away.

This letter is to request that you review the enclosed materials with respect to wetlands, watershed, and
surface hydrology associated with the proposed project described below for issuance of a isolated wetlands
classification letter. !`
The proposed project is the Harmony Ridge PUD — Phase II development in Fort Collins, Colorado. A
Jurisdictional Wetland Delineation was previously submitted to your office and approved of on January 21,
2000 (see attached letter). A site location map and a map showing the wetland boundary are also provided
for your review. The site is currently slated for proposed real estate development.
The site is located in the Northwest corner of Section 3, Township 6 North, Range 69 West of the 6th
P.M., in the County of Larimer, State of Colorado. Coordinates for the site were estimated from an U.S.
Geological Survey (USGS) 7.5-minute Fort Collins quadrangle map and are 105° 6' 80" west longitude
and 40° 31' 37" north latitude. . .

Dear Ms. McKee:
This letter is written to request continents regarding threatened or endangered species under the Endangered
Species Act at the Harmony Ridge -Phase II site in Fort Collins, Colorado. Water Quality Technology, Inc.
(WQTI) is providing Spiranthes diluvialis survey support to J. D. Padilla who is developing the area.
A habitat survey for the Ute Ladies' -tresses Orchid (Spiranthes diluvialis) was conducted within wetland
areas on March 2, 2001. Enclosed are the results of the Spiranthes diluvialis habitat survey for the
proposed construction areas in a report entitled Ute Ladies' -Tresses Orchid (Spiranthes diluvtalis)
Habitat Survey for Harmony Ridge -Phase II, Fort Collins, Colorado (dated March 2001). Results of the
report state that no habitat to support Spiranthes diluvialis was found within the survey site.
The project site is located in the Northwest corner of Section 3, Township 6 North, Range 69 West of the
6th P.M., in the County of Larimer, State of Colorado.
I have also included the wetland delineation map and filed data forms for the site.
