Guice VIA: Fax REF: Jefferson Commons Ft. Collins Feb 05, 1996 JOB#: 95239 Pages: 2 Enclosed is a photometric study for the above referenced project. The values shown on the site plan are footcandles. One footcandle is equal to the illumination of one candle burning at one foot from the surface. Every effort was made to limit the effect of lighting on adjacent properties. The average footcandle level at the property line is 0.15, which is about 1/10th the illumination of one candle burning at one foot from the surface. This would be equivalent to moonlight. The pole lighting at the sports courts will be mechanically shielded to cut off light at the property line. The shields will be positioned so that glare from the fixture lamp will not be seen from adjacent properties. Also, the court lighting will be on a timer so it can be turned off at a predetermined time. The average footcandle level at the property line near this area is 0.6, which is about 1/2 the illumination of one candle burning at one foot from the surface. This would be equivalent to the light on a surface from a small pen -type flashlight at about 6 feet from the surface. MAGNULITER' MVA Series • Architectural Styling • Rugged Die Cast Housing • Cutoff Light Distribution • Pole or Wall Mounting • Superior Quality Finish Magnuliter series housings are constructed of rugged, yet lightweight die-cast aluminum finished with durable bronze or optional gray LEKTROCOTE®polyester to assure a long life and maintenance free service. A hinged die-cast aluminum door incorporating a thermal shock and impact -resistant glass lens allows easy lamp access. A continuous silicone gasket seals the door and housing to ensure weather tight operation and prevent insect intrusion. Door assemblies are secured to the housing by two rugged cast -in hinges and two exclusive HUBBELL GARD•" treated captive screws to prevent galvanic corrosion. A choice of two cutoff beam distributions is offered to meet your spectification requirements. (MCIII street optics or an IY MOD forward throw). Hubbell's exclusive ANODAL® reflector finish seals the high purity aluminum for long life, consistant performance and precise, efficient* light control. All electrical components are mounted directly to the luminaire body. This allows for maximum optical design and efficiency while ensuring cooler operation and maximum product fife. Up to 4 MVA Series Magnuliter luminaires may be pole mounted on 41 or 10° arms. Wall mounting may also be accomplished with the use -of the MAA-WP-1 wall plate accessory. The parking lot fixtures are the same as those used in many single-family residential neighborhoods. The sport court fixtures are less than 112 the intensity of most tennis court lighting applications, since the courts will not be used for professional tournaments. In summary, the proposed lighting systems will adequately light the apartment community for safety and security, without causing a nuisance to the adjoining properties.
