Shields St. Fort Collins, CO 80526 June 5, 1998 Hi! Just a note to thank you for all you have done to try and get our Trilby Lateral back in operation You have gone the extra mile to help us, and I for one appreciate your efforts and expertise very much. I had a meeting with Joe VanSant yesterday about their development. He stated that you had met with him on many occasions. He mentioned our access into the ditch where we have come in for over 100 years. There is a culvert that has been there every since my parents purchased our farm in 1959. He says you want to make a handicap accessible trail coming down to the crossing? My input would be that the path come straight down the grade, and be wide enough for our backhoes and equipment to get to the ditch, to work on it. I would like to see a bridge instead of the culvert. The bridge would have to be wide enough and strong enough to hold a back hoe, tractor, pickup, etc... I was thinking it would need to be 12 feet wide. The over the ditch bridges are better for you and for us, as they allow access, and no kid could get trapped if they were fooling around in time of high water. Any cutting of the ditch, will require that the soil be compacted and bentonite used to seal the ditch. Thanks again for all your help Craig. Give me a call if you have any questions Sincerely, 9- Jim Robbins
