Traffic on Hampshire Road
Could Increase 50% overnight
s you may know, 1 St National Bank wants to constrict a
ive-thru banking facility on the corner of Drake and Hampshire
c)ads. The development is not yet approved by the City, and it is
e feeling of many of us in the neighborhood that such a facility
es not belong on a residential street. If you ever walk or ride a
cycle to the Drake Crossing Shopping Center (recently renamed
I st National Bank Center) this development puts you and your
ildren at risk from the greatly increased traffic.
ie bank's own estimates are for up to 600 cars per day. 'That's
10 in, and 600 out, or 1200 trips per day. Peak activity could
proach 80 cars per hour. Most of these will enter and exit onto
tmpshire Road, a residential street. This represents an increase
50% over current traffic levels.

tcility in a public hearing before it is built. The Board will be
Dting on it at their next meeting on Monday, April 28, at 6:30
