Dear Tim:
I am writing this letter to confirm conversations I have had with
you and with Bud Curtis.
It is my understanding that the City of Fort Collins is
requesting a number of vehicular and pedestrian crossings over
the canal west of Lemay. It is also my understanding that these
crossings are being demanded as a condition of your development
proposal.
i
The Lake Canal Company is not supportive of increasing the
vehicular and pedestrian crossings over the canal. It is my
understanding that a pedestrian crossing was allowed over the
canal about have way between Lemay and College to resolve this
issue several years ago. It is my opinion that increasing the
crossings over the canal is unfair governmental regulation. It
has been the practice of the planning departments in time past to
minimize the impact of urban growth on the irrigation canals.
I miss quoted the width of the canal access on the phone. The
Lake Canal Company has typically requested fifty feet from the
center .of the canal.
Thanks for considering the needs of the canal.
Sincerely,
Don Magnuson
