On Tuesday, June 10, 1997, at 1:30 p.m., in the Current Planning Department of the City of Fort
Collins, 281 North College Avenue, the Current Planning Director will conduct a public
Administrative Hearing to consider the request for a wireless telecommunications tower. The
project is referred to as U.S. West Communications - 4620 South College Avenue, #11-97E.
The request is to construct a monopole telecommunications tower to a height of 60 feet. A
monopole is a tower with no guy wires. The tower would be located on the northeast corner of
the U.S. West property in an area that is presently a parking lot.
U.S. West would mount an array of wireless telecommunications antennas on top of the tower.
The tower would also have the capability of supporting the antennas of one other wireless
telecommunications provider approximately 20 feet below the U.S. West antennas.
The purpose of the antennas is to provide personal communication services using digital
technology as opposed to analog technology such as used with cellular telephones. U.S. West
Corporation has a license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) which permits
U.S. West to operate wireless telecommunication services and other services for the benefit of the
public.
The list of affected property owners for this public information meeting is derived from official
records of the Larimer County Assessor. Because of the lag time between occupancy and record
keeping, or because of rental situations, a few affected property owners may have been missed.
Please feel free to notify your neighbor of this pending meeting so all neighbors may have the
opportunity to attend. If your are unable to attend this meeting, written comments are welcome
