Dear Resident:
Commi., y Planning and Environmental - _rvices
Current Planning
Apri121, 1997
On Wednesday, April 30, 1997, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, 4610
Hogan Drive, the City of Fort Collins Planning Department will hold a neighborhood information
meeting to discuss a development proposal in your neighborhood.
The project is referred to as U.S. West Communications. They are requesting the construction
of communication tower to be located behind an office building on property they own at 4620
South College Avenue. The tower is proposed to be 60 feet in height and located on the
northeast corner of the property. (see map on reverse).
The purpose of the tower is to provide antennas for wireless telecommunications technology for
mobile telephones. This technology is known as personal communication services, or "P.C.S."
and is different from cellular in that different frequencies are used.
The proposed tower has the potential for an additional provider to be located on the same pole.
Photo simulations will be provided at the neighborhood meeting by the U.S. West representative.
The tower is also referred to as "monopole" because it is self-supporting without guy wires or
other supporting structures.
The purpose of the meeting is to give all participants the opportunity to ask questions of the
applicant and express their concerns in an informal setting. No final decision will result from this
meeting.
The list of affected property owners for this public information meeting is derived from official
records of the Larimer County Assessor. Because of the lag time between home occupancy and
record keeping, or because of rental situations, a few affected property owners may have been
missed. Please feel free to notify your neighbor of this pending meeting so all neighbors may have
the opportunity to attend. If you are unable to attend this meeting, written comments are
welcome.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please call our office at 221-6750.
Sincerely,
Ted Shepard, AICP
Senior Planner
