The City of Fort Collins has approved the proposed Community of Christ Church Seasonal Overflow
Shelter, #BDR160020 proposed at 221 E Oak St.
This is a request to use the existing church as a seasonal overflow shelter. (Please see map on reverse for
location.) Seasonal overflow shelters allow places of assembly or worship to provide overnight
accommodations to homeless individuals during cold weather months. As proposed, the overflow shelter
would run until the end of April 2017. The proposal would allow Community of Christ Church to operate
a seasonal overflow shelter for the next four winters. The church would have to hold a neighborhood
meeting before operating each winter.
This final decision of the Director may be appealed to the Planning and Zoning Board, in accordance with
Chapter 2, Article 11, Division 3 of the City Code, within 14 calendar days of the date of final action
(March 30, 2017) by the Director. The deadline to file an appeal is 5:00 p.m. on April 13, 2017. You may
file an appeal to this decision by delivering a letter with your grounds for appeal to 281 N College Ave.
before the appeal deadline. This letter should contain the project number, name and address of the
appellant, and the grounds for appeal.
