Along Lemay south Fossil Creek Community Park we will would like 10' but the terrain and other items will not allow can't think of any other trail sections that are less than the I agree, 10' is really wide next to a street. Hope this helps. Craig have a section of sidewalk widened to 8', we This is a current example of the 8' section. 10'. >>> Ted Shepard 01 /13/03 03:30PM >>> Craig, the trail through Maple Hill is part of a larger Mountain Vista regional trail system. As such, the trail is ten feet wide where is cuts through a detention pond and other open space. But, in the northwest corner of the site, it joins up with a street sidewalk and serves the dual purpose of trail and sidewalk. Where it becomes the sidewalk, the developer is proposing that it be reduced to eight feet. Would you agree that it could be reduced to eight? I am sympathetic since a ten foot wide sidewalk next to a street almost looks like another lane of car travel even though it would be separated by 5.5 foot wide parkway strip. Do we have other examples in the City that we can draw upon for guidance? Transportation Planning would like ten feet but Dave Stringer and I think its your call, not theirs. Thanks, Ted.
