8. What is the thinking with havi..ig two siding widths, and what are they? Is Lne thinner hatch 6" and the wider
hatch pattern 10"? Labels don't seem to match. This seems to make the building less unified, maybe a bit on
the busy side. Not clear on how the siding is broken up by color.
9. Shake siding is labelled as asphalt shingle.
10. Building base: This is a pretty big priority. Need to include base course with stone, and where siding is the base,
include a color change at siding with a horizontal trim piece. The siding base needs to be as tall as (or taller)
than the stone base. We would suggest raising the siding and stone base in certain areas around the building to
provide more detail /variety. The attached photo is a good example of a higher stone base at a corner.
11. South wing, west elevation- the left side of the elevation is not consistent with the quality shown in the PDP.
Overall we are looking to verify that the building will be of a quality consistent with the PDP and that justifies the
modifications that were approved. Again, please let me know if there are questions/concerns.
Thanks,
Jason

Attached are the "redlines" for the building elevations. Took longer than expected to look over this.
There are some things to work through as the drawings move into hardline documents. If some of this doesn't make
sense, or if we need to work anything out, let me know. I'll need to see another printed copy (also one for technical
services), but it does not need to be a formal routing. I think I've mentioned everything, but with the transition in
format and details I may have more comments. Here's the explanation related to the redlines.
1. Labelling: Need to describe the material and color for all elements. This does not need to be done with color
drawings or photographs, as was done with the PDP. I'd suggest that the material schedule include a number
code symbol, and then the numbers be placed on the elevations in enough places that it's clear what each hatch
pattern represents. Another option could be to have a keyed table based on the hatch patterns. A third option
could be adding some direct labels here and there and stating "typical"
2. Cleanup: Please simplify the drawing and remove all of the section lines. Zone A,B E, etc, please remove. Some
of the linework is missing here and there, and some of the elements are very hard to read, such as the gable
brackets. Can we also take off all of the window letter symbols.
3. Key Plan: Please include a small plan key so that it's less confusing where each elevation corresponds with the
plan. Match lines would also help. I was very difficult trying to compare the new format to the elevations
approved at PDP.
4. Building Height: The markups in the PDP ask for the roof peak to be labelled in various places. Disregard that. I
just noticed the label on the south wing, west elevation— 139' 5-7/8. Please clarify with that label that this
elevation is the maximum building height. Also, more importantly, building height per code is measured from
the average of finish ground level, not the ground -level subfloor.
5. Details, Trim, Windows: The PDP showed a trim wrap at corners, around the windows and between lap
materials. Also, a wider horizontal trim piece between the shake siding and the lap siding. Please also add a
note or indicate explaining the typical dimension of the trim: 1- around windows, 2- at corners, 3- wider
horizontal trim btw. siding materials. It's hard to tell whether trim wraps around the windows. Also, the
mullions have been removed. Attached is a photo with an option for the trim and mullions. We would want
the trim trap to be substantial, perhaps varied around the windows with wider trim on the top and bottom of
the windows, the jpeg photo shows an example, windows on the left of the photo. Mullions shown in the PDP
added detail and helped scale down the building footprint. Overall, the building detailing level needs to be
consistent with the PDP.
6. PDP had brackets at every gable and metal roof elements over more of the windows. If this needs to be scaled
back, we should discuss the extent.
7. Window hvac units —need to explains that these are flush mount and the color. Would suggest unpainted
brushed aluminum, this seems to be a good finish option to make the units unobtrusive.
