On July 13, 2000 Imago Enterprises, Inc. submitted to the City a petition to annex
36.75 acre, known as the Prospect East Frontage Road Annexation. Your
September 1, 2000 letter to the applicant's representative, V-F Ripley Associates,
Inc., noted that this property was included in a special study area by the City, and
that this 1-25 Subarea Plan was estimated to be completed in the Spring of 2001.
You had suggested that the annexation proceed with a staff recommendation for
approval with T, Transition zoning. However, I indicated a preference to wait for
the 1-25 Subarea Plan to address any land use issues before completing the
annexation.
I understand from our telephone conversation this morning that the City expects
to adopt this plan in August or September of this year. In an effort to expedite
this annexation and zoning, I would like any initiating resolutions to be set in
motion so the question of zoning can be addressed as soon as possible after the
1-25 Subarea Plan public policy basis is in place.
