Please allow this letter to serve as my request and approval of a 90 day extension of the hearing date for
the Grant Street Corners project. Please let me know if there is a problem with this. I would like to get
together with both of you sometime the week of January 19th to the 20th to discuss the project. Please get

Chris,
We will not be able to take Grant Street Corners PDP to administrative public hearing on December 4th.
Since I talked to you last week a couple of things of potential concern have come to my attention.
As I began preparing the Staff Report for the hearing officer I looked through the project file for any
neighborhood meeting information and found none. I then called Shelby Sommer, your previous City
planner, and she informed me that, in spite of significant urging to hold a neighborhood meeting, none was
held. I do understand that your request is an administrative (Type 1) review; however, the intent is to add 4
new residential dwelling units on 7 lots containing 7 dwelling units. There was a project just across the
alley to the west of your project that recently created significant concerns and opposition about the
addition of one new dwelling unit. I discussed this with Steve Dush, our new Current Planning Director,
and he and I agreed that we should have some level of indication about any potential controversy

Subject: Grant Street Corners
Dear Chris,
The City of Fort Collins has reviewed and approved your request for a 60-day
extension to the Grant Street Corners PDP resubmittal. With a 60-day extension
to the January 10t' deadline, your new resubmittal deadline will be March 10,
2009.
This extension will hopefully give you sufficient time to resolve outstanding issues
associated with the project that you have outlined in your request letter. Should
you need an additional 30-day extension beyond that provided, please make an
extension request at least 7 days prior to the March 10th deadline.
Should you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free
