The variance request needs to follow the guidelines in section 1.9.4 of LCUASS which I have attached for reference. Since the city does not have much experience with pavers, the more information you can provide the better. We will need proposed street cross sections, since that is technically what is being varied, showing the street cross section and the proposed changes to the parkway and/or sidewalk. Also, any installation details of the pavers themselves including a product spec/cut sheet showing how exactly the pavers will be installed as well as any sub -grade details would be helpful. We would like to include Advance Planning, Transportation Planning, and Current Planning in on the decision so if you can also provide any streetscape details of what Willox is proposed to look like and any building elevations along Willox. Basically, the more information we have in addition to the variance request itself the better. Engineering is primarily concerned with how the pavers will be installed and if they will cause any harm to the street or utilities, as well as, pedestrian safety in the parkway and sidewalk in terms of tripping hazards etc. Hopefully this lays out what we would like to see in the variance itself, please let me know if you have any questions as you prepare the request.
