This has been updated because the paved parkway they originally proposed would have required a variance from Engineering. The public hearing has been set for July 8th, if possible please get me your comments by July 1. If that is not possible I will make it a condition of approval that you approve the landscape plan for this project. Please let me know if you have any questions. I had misplaced my copy of this plan so am very glad you sent this. 1. The three notes in the attached document need to be on the landscape plan. 2. Street Trees species need to be from the City Street Tree list. I have attached that list. The following trees in the left column are shown on the plan as street trees but are not on the list so they should be changed to an approved species. I have shown my suggestion for a change to the right Not Approved Street Trees Recommended Change Red Oak Quercus rubra Bur Oak or Chinkapin Oak Patmore Ash Fraxinus pennsylvanica 'Patmore" Accolade Elm or Hackberry Sterling Silver Linden Tilia tomentosa "Sterling Silver" Greenspire Linden 3. In the detention area they are using Narrowleaf Cottonwood. This species of Cottonwood suckers terribly so they should change these to Plains Cottonwood or Lanceleaf Cottonwood. 4. The depressed park at the SW corner of the project does not have trees labeled as to type. Chanticleer Pear would be a nice choice at this location. 5. In the depressed park on the west edge of the project the two east trees are not labeled. Kentucky Coffeetree would work well for these two trees. 6. The parkways will need to be irrigated. It would be great to take a look at the final landscape plan afte they make the changes.
