Therefore, the entire building is considered out of aerial access. The fire marshal has reviewed the project and its relation to other associated infill projects in the area. His concern relates to overall density in association with an overall lack in fire access to this site and other surrounding sites. The project team submitted a letter back in March offering alternative means for meeting the intent of the fire code. The fire marshal has reviewed the letter. At this time, he is requiring the project to meet the intent of the code via more stringent compliance with high rise provisions of the IFC & IBC. Should the project team wish to discuss this issue further, I am happy to facilitate a meeting with the FM. Response: The letter has been revised to include additional protective measures. The requirement to provide two separate fire access roads for commercial properties of this size is therefore not mandatory by code. However, as discussed in the follow-up meeting at PFA Administration Building on 10/19/2016, providing for a fire access connections to the proposed Standard Site will allow additional portions of the Stadium Apt.
