Calling about the Copper Leaf Apartments project that is being proposed — Don't see how this project
can be approved without causing mayhem with traffic. It is so bad now!
She does not understand why we would want to put more and more businesses into this little quadrant.
There is already a gas station (Schraders), a travel agency, an urgent care and a daycare, all of which are
already causing huge traffic problems. It is beyond her understanding why we would now want to pack
in a multi -family project with 150 units, creating more issues in this area. She suggested moving south
with this project where there are lots of fields and room for this type of thing.
She stated that Rocky Mountain High School is right up the street —they let out at 3:30 p.m. Rush hour
traffic lets out at 5:00 p.m. Shields traffic is already areal mess right here. She believes approving this
project will have a huge negative impact on this area.
Laurie stated that Richmond has ab in/out. Patterson is an offshoot of that. They have cars going up
and down Patterson constantly because people are using them as a pass through to cut off of that
corner and get back on to main streets. This has become a real problem in her neighborhood. She also
noted that you can't get out onto Richmond. It is lined with cars on both sides every day because of the
businesses. This makes it hard to get out onto Richmond and the main streets— it is hard to see —and
the parking leaves very little room on the roads to get out onto the streets.
She added that there are kids coming and going out of the preschool, there are cars constantly going in
and out of Schraders, and she can't understand why we would want another 150 parking spaces in there
with the multi -family project to add to this already huge mess.
She has been in her neighborhood for 19 years. If this goes through, she is looking at moving, because
doesn't want to be impacted by the additional stress this will put on this area. She does not want to
have to put up with this. She feels like she should have a right to get to her home without having to
constantly fight traffic just a block away from her house.
She stated again that they should consider moving the project south where there is more available/open
space.

RE: Copper Leaf Apartments Project
Laurie was unable to attend the neighborhood meeting, and was interested to learn what other residents thought about
the proposal. I will be emailing her the link to the November 10 P&Z agenda so that she can review the documents,
including the neighborhood meeting notes.

Thanks Delynn & All —
I'm forwarding to Nicole and Martina in Traffic Operations so that they can follow up with traffic questions. When I
spoke with Laurie, she mentioned that she is concerned that people will be unable to turn left from Richmond to Shields
so they will use Patterson as a cut through to get to the light at Casa Grande.
Because this proposal will be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Board on November 10, if Ms. Lewis wants her
comments to be considered by the Planning and Zoning Board, she should provide them in writing prior to the hearing.
I spoke with Laurie to clarify with that the notice she received is for the public hearing on the proposal (not a
neighborhood meeting). I also let her know that that Board can consider her written comments if they provided to Ted
before the P&Z hearing on November 10.

Hi Ted —
I received a call from Laurie Lewis regarding this project. She is really concerned about the traffic impacts this project
would cause in her neighborhood. I have attached the notes I took from our call.
She would like a call from the person in traffic who is reviewing the project so she can get further clarification on her
questions. She is unable to be at the neighborhood meeting that has been scheduled.
Let me know if you need anything further from me.
Thanks!
