Subject: site meeting - utility/tree coordination - meeting minutes
We met this afternoon to review the landscape buffer along the south edge of
the proposed MOB. The following are items discussed:
1. Utility locates had been requested, and markings were visible on the
snow. Utility potholing scheduled to occur tomorrow. Markings indicted three
electrical lines running the length of the landscape buffer between the
existing parking lot and the adjacent residential privacy fence, between
Lemay Avenue and the existing building. Dennis noted that there is also a
Comcast line in this area, but it was not marked at the time of the meeting.
This line may either run within this buffer or may be located south of the
fence on the residential properties (possibly why no markings indicated).
Several pedestals/vaults are also located within this buffer area.
2. Both Light and Power and Comcast agreed to allow the required trees
to be planted in this area, even if over or near the existing lines. Hand
digging may be required to protect the existing utility lines from damage.
Pedestals/vaults should remain in place and be protected. Trees are planned
to be planted between existing pedestals vaults.
3. If potholing reveals that either utility will be damaged/displaced
by the proposed trees plantings due to shallow depth, both Light and Power
and Comcast agreed that the utility lines could be relocated north under the
proposed parking lot area at the project's cost. Pedestals/vaults should
remain in the landscape buffer area. New utility locations must be within a
utility easement.
We will coordinate with the Contractor once the potholing results are
received, and I'll send out any updates or changes if needed.
Thanks,
Angie
