The transit stop, in my opinion, should be on the far side of the intersection. one
would not want a bus to stop in a right turn lane off a high speed facility.

Just to add that we discussed that the location of the future transit stop on
eastbound Harmony Road (just east of CR 9) needs to take into consideration the design
of the right turn acceleration lane on Harmony (from CR 9).

subject: Response to Celestica transit stop question
Ted, to answer your question (gwise dated 1/13/98), "Where do we want the transit stop
for eastbound Harmony Road in relation to the Celestica project?"
A future transit stop for eastbound Harmony should be located east of C.R. 9 on
Harmony. Currently, Transfort does not have service at this exact location, yet
transit is planned in the Transit Development Plan as well as in the City Structure
Plan, as you know. Therefore, space should be reserved for the stop and a bus shelter
as described in the "Transit Design Standards & Guidelines" (A Type A bus stop design
on a major arterial in an Employment Distirct)
The location east of Technology Parkway on Harmony will be another consideration in
the future when development of that area occurs.
