PARK AMENDED ODP - 12-97C - CORRESPONDENCE - TRANSPORTATION ISSUERRonn Fuchs Harmony TechODP p _ __ __ _,g Page 1 From: Eric Bracke To: Bob Blanchard, Ron Fuchs Date: Tue, Mar 7, 2000 11:08 AM Subject: Harmony Tech ODP I have had an opportunity to review the Harmony Tech Park ODP TIS and offer the following comments: 1. The TIS assumes that Cambridge will be a signalized intersection. This is not a fair assumption. When the City agreed to signalize Technology Parkway, Cambridge was used as the lever. The City is now in a position to "justify" the need for a signal at Cambridge. 2. The analysis for the justification will require a redistribution of trips to the other signalize intersections. It may also require a reevaluation of land use distributions/types. 3. The analysis should be in a format that CDOT is used to such as an access control plan format. 4. AM and PM PASSER or Synchro runs must be provided (with and without Cambridge) 5. Cinquefoil/Harmony is shown as a 3/4 intersection. The Harmony Road access contol plan has it as an approved ri/ro. A wb left turn addition to the intersection is not supported at this time. 6. Since Technology Parkway is a public collector, I have the expectation that it will continue southward to make the connection to the east -west collector. Kind Regards, Eric L. Bracke, P.E. From: Kathleen Reavis To: Bob Blanchard, Eric Bracke, Ron Fuchs Date: Wed, Mar 8, 2000 4:46 PM Subject: Re: Harmony Tech CDP I had planned to address these issues as part of the update process for the Harmony Road Access Control Plan. This update project is currently underway and we are having our next team meeting on Tuesday, March 14 from 1- 4:30 at Transportation Planning if anyone is interested in joining us - we will be covering the comments on the existing conditions report for both Harmony and South College as well as taking our first look at the future traffic projections along these corridors. In order to focus more closely on the issues associated with the Harmony Tech CDP, perhaps its better if it is scheduled as an item for a future Transportation Coordination meeting agenda. We'll probably have draft information available regarding proposed plan recommendations by the end of March so that would be a good time. Along with Eric's comments, I think we should inform the applicant that the Access plan update project is underway and we can work with them through that process.
