Dear Mr. Shepard:
It may seem presumptuous of me, living as I do on Oakwood
Drive, to support the creation of .a:!new legal subdivision lot on
Skyline Drive. However, I have two reasons for doing so. First,
I am aware of the deep satisfaction of being able to live in a home
that I own and love. Second, I have been a contributor to Habitat
for Humanity for some years and have been jMpressed by the sensible
policies this organization follows in choosing and assisting worthy
persons to live in homes they help build and eventually own.
Tuesday I`4alked along the 1000 block on S. Skyline Drive to
look over the situation. The attractive houses and neat yards
suggest. -..that most are presently "owner occupied. ".],"The residents in,
them -are obviously blessed with a sparsely travelle& street,.an
elementary school with walking distance in one direction and the
natural open space of Avery Park in the other. -They;-are handily
close to a bus'stop, King Soopers and other stores€•nearby, and. if
they happen to -,be Presbyterians, a church. The University apart-
ments along W.'Elizabeth are distant enough to preclude noise and
parking problems:
It seems to me that the house in question, built by Poudre High
math students and a hopeful Habitat family; would fit in appropriately
on the proposed lot. Given a little time for.landscaping to.aake effect,
this house would nestle aesthetically with the -other houses on the block.
Please give your approval -to the creation of Habitat Skyline
Subdivision #BDR160015.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Joseph Murphy
