Erosion Control Concept Preceeding parcel development, erosion control plans will be produced in accordance to the recommendations provided for in the The City of fort Collins Storm Drainage Design Criteria Manual. REFERENCES 1. Storm Drainage Design Criteria and Construction Standards by the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, May 1984, Revised March, 1991. 4 ' - coefficients of 0.25 and 0.8 were used for the historical and proposed conditions, respectively. Due to the preliminary nature of the project, the required volume derived from the FAA Method was then multiplied by a factor of safety of 1.25 to arrive at the final design volume. Flows from each detention ' pond will be released at the 2 year historical rate into an adjacent roadside swale. Stormwater runoff from the surface area within the right-of-way for all collector streets running through the site will be detained at a Regional detention pond located in the southeast corner of the site (Pond 6). Stormwater will be released from Pond 6 at the 2 year historical rate for its tributary area (the collector roads). Runoff from the five parcels will be conveyed by the roadside swales to Pond 6, and passed through an overflow control structure and into an offsite channel that will convey the flow to the Fossil Creek Reservoir Inlet Ditch. An easement will have to be acquired to accomodate the offsite drainage and emergency overflow channel route from the site to the Fossil Creek Reservoir Inlet Ditch. V. EROSION CONTROL A. General Concept Erosion control plans and related calculations will be applied on an individual basis to each parcel as they are developed. ' A. Compliance with Standards All computations that have been completed within this report ' are in compliance with The City of Fort Collins Storm Drainage Design Criteria Manual, B. Drainage Concept ' The proposed drainage concepts adequately provide for the safe transmission of stormwater flows off the proposed Harmony Technological. Park site. Drainage detention and routing methods ' 3 III. DRAINAGE DESIGN CRITERIA ' A. Regulations The City of Fort Collins Storm Drainage Design Criteria was used for the preparation of this report. B. Development Criteria Reference and Constraints Flows will be released from the site in quantities equal to the historical condition. C. Hydrological Criteria The rational method for determining surface runoff was used for the project site. The 2 and 100 year storm event criteria, obtained from the City of Fort Collins, were used in calculating runoff values. These calculations and criteria are included in the Appendix. D. Hydraulic Criteria All hydraulic calculations within this report have been prepared in accordance with the City of Fort Collins Drainage Criteria and are included in the Appendix. E. Variances from Criteria No variances from City of Fort Collins Storm Drainage Criteria are being sought for this project. ' IV. DRAINAGE FACILITY DESIGN A. General Concept The overall site has conceptually been subdivided into five parcels that will undergo development at different times. The '. stormwater runoff from each parcel will be detained in detention ponds located on each parcel's property (Ponds 1 through 5, ' See Sheet 1). The detention ponds were sized using the FAA 1 2 Harmony Technological Park Overall Drainage Plan A. Location The proposed site is located in the NW 1/4 of Section 4 T.6N, R. 69W of the 6th Prime Meridian, Larimer County. The overall site is bounded on the North by Harmony Road (State Highway 68), on the West by County Road.9, and on the South and East by open fields. The site consists of approximately 156 acres and resides within the city limits of Fort Collins. A location map is included in the Appendix of this report. B. Description of Property This property consists of plowed fields with an occupied farm house in the northwest corner of the site. The general topography of the site slopes from the Northwest to the Southeast at a grade ranging from 0.3%-1.5%. An irrigation ditch runs along the west side of the site between County Road 9 and the site. The proposed development plan will consist of office and manufacturing industry. A. Major Basin Description The site is located within the East Harmony Portion of ' McClellands Basin. This portion of the McClellands Basin has not been closely studied. However, the City has currently ' contracted for a Master Drainage Study of the area. The site historically discharges into the Fossil Creek Reservoir Inlet Ditch.
