Development name : Shadeland Town homes
Location : 521 E. Prospect Road Fort Collins Colorado.
LANDSCAPE OBJECTIVES
The design objective of this plan is to develop a well -landscaped site and blend with existing landscape and
provide screening for neighboring properties. There are numerous mature trees on the site as well as on the
neighboring properties. The majority of the trees on the site are Elm trees and provide a well -shaded lot. Although
Elm trees are not a preferred tree to have, a few of the healthier trees will be protected to try and maintain the lots
current appearance. There are numerous wild cherry trees that will be thinned out and the larger ones protected to
maintain some of the visual break that now exists. Austrian Pines are proposed along the south property line to
provide a good visual break to detract from the proposed parking area and the buildings . The Austrian Pines as
well as the Dogwood will provide year around color that the site has little of now.
Mitigation for removing existing trees. The trees removed will be replaced with new trees as per Cities Land Use
Code.
1. One 24" Green Ash Fronting the property along Prospect Road The tree poses a problem of vision obstruction
to traffic entering on to Prospect Road from the site. The tree will be replaced with 3- Green Ash 3" caliper. One
tree will be planted in the right of way just west of the entrance to the site the other two will be planted on site.
2. One 16" apple tree on the site the tree is located in the proposed building foot print. The apple tree will be
replaced with 1- Burr Oak 3" caliper located on the site.
3. One 12" Green Ash on site is located in the proposed parking area, ti will be replaced with 1- Burr Oak 3"
caliper located on site.
