John
At this week's City Council Meeting, Councilman Bertschy raised questions about the inclusion of Item #15
on the Consent Agenda: the initiating resolution for the Pineridge 5th Annexation.
The Pineridge 5th Natural Area Annexation refers to a 4.76 acre City -owned parcel located west of
Overland Trail south of County Road 42. The area lies approximately 3 miles north of the Cathy
Fromme/Coyote Ridge Natural Areas Annexations presently under review.
This annexation represents a simple map correction that has few implications for the City. At the time the
Urban Growth Area was established, the UGA boundary was intended to follow the alignment of County
Road 42C. However, the boundary was inadvertently placed such that a small triangular -shaped was
placed outside the UGA. The parcel is not served by utilities and there no measurable costs to provide
City police services to this small parcel. If annexed, the resulting City boundary would not create a County
enclave eligible for future annexation.
I hope that this adequately responds to Councilman Bertshy's questions. Please feel free to contact me if
you require additional information.
